Curatorial context
Wsłuchaj się w muzeum (Listen in the Museum) is an artistic intervention conceived by foreign students learning Polish as a foreign language from the University of Warsaw. Over the winter semester of 2022/2023, these students collaborated with curators and librarians to develop their own audio guides for the most captivating cabinets within the main 'Warsaw Things' exhibition. The intervention focuses on specific sections like the Archaeological Cabinet, Sirens of Warsaw, Warsaw Monuments, Postcards, Views of Warsaw, Portraits, Clothing, Warsaw Company Packaging, Relics, Schiel Family, and Warsaw Clocks. Participants not only explored the exhibition and museum collections but also engaged with museum operations, gaining an insider's perspective. The audio guides, written and recorded in intermediate-level Polish, are accessible via QR codes placed before the relevant cabinets, allowing visitors to hear the students' personal interpretations of Warsaw's history and culture.
Admission and ticket notes
The exhibition is accessible with a ticket to the permanent exhibition, priced at 25 PLN for a regular ticket and 18 PLN for a reduced ticket. Admission is free on Thursdays. Visitors can purchase tickets through the museum's online booking system.
