This exhibition at the Poster Museum in Wilanów, now reopened after modernization, showcases a significant collection of Polish posters dating from the Young Poland movement to contemporary graphic design. The exhibition explores the social, cultural, and political transformations reflected in poster art and will feature around 36,000 objects, with displays changing every three months.
The Poster Museum in Wilanów proudly reopens its doors with 'Polish Poster. Collection / Reveal 2.', a landmark exhibition presenting the museum's extensive collection of nearly 36,000 objects. This exhibition marks the first time the world's first poster museum will display its Polish poster collection as a permanent exhibition. Spanning from the artistic posters of the Young Poland period, through the interwar artistic advertising, post-war propaganda, the phenomenon of the Polish School of Posters, to modern graphic design, the exhibition chronicles Poland's social, cultural, and political history as mirrored in poster art.
Due to the delicate nature of paper, the display will be refreshed every three months, ensuring a dynamic viewing experience while maintaining a consistent narrative. The exhibition is divided into six thematic chapters, offering a comprehensive overview of Polish poster design. The modernization of the museum, after several years of closure, has resulted in a new arrangement designed by Syfon Studio. A richly illustrated publication by Kuba Sowiński accompanies the exhibition, serving as a compendium of knowledge on Polish posters and the museum's history.
