The artwork portrays a Satyr embracing a naked woman with flowing hair, caught in what appears to be a dance. The Satyr offers grapes to the Bacchante, a gesture imbued with erotic suggestion. This piece is believed to be inspired by 'Accipe daque' (Latin for 'Take and Give'), a marble group by the prominent 18th-century French sculptor Étienne Maurice Falconet, which was part of King Stanisław August's collection and considered highly valuable. The sandstone sculpture, situated on the south terrace of the Palace on the Isle, has been in this location since at least 1777. Its execution is attributed to Jan Chryzostom Redler, a leading figure in Warsaw's Rococo sculptural movement. The dimensions of the sculpture suggest it may have been intended for a larger royal residence, such as the Ujazdów Castle.
