Close Encounters with the Nature of Royal Łazienki Park: A Guided Exploration of Flora and Fauna

This series of summer meetings offered visitors a chance to explore the fauna and flora of the Royal Łazienki Park. Experienced naturalists guided participants through the gardens, sharing fascinating facts about the local wildlife and plant life.

The 'Close Encounters with the Nature of Royal Łazienki' series invited attendees to discover the rich biodiversity of the Royal Łazienki Park during the summer of 2020. Led by knowledgeable naturalists, these sessions offered guided walks through the picturesque gardens, highlighting the park's inhabitants and natural features. Participants learned about the intricate ecosystem of the 76-hectare green space, home to thousands of trees, various plant species, and diverse wildlife. The program featured specific themed events such as 'Insect Overload,' focusing on pollinators and their ecological importance; 'Duck Metamorphoses,' exploring waterfowl biology and identification; and 'Edible or Poisonous?', a search for wild edible plants and understanding the properties of various flora like oaks and yews. Each session lasted 1.5 hours, with specific dates and times provided for each theme. Registration was required via email or phone, with a nominal fee of 1 PLN per person. Participants were instructed to purchase tickets at the cashier in Podchorążówka and arrive 10 minutes prior to the event.
