This event series, held on October 20-21, 2023, commemorates Landscape Day with a guided walk and workshops focused on the historical gardens of Łazienki Park. Participants will explore the diverse character of the park and learn about garden design principles, drawing connections between historical and contemporary approaches.
To celebrate Landscape Day under the theme 'Appreciate locality,' the Royal Łazienki Museum is offering a special program including a guided walk and creative workshops. The event, 'Dzień Krajobrazu - Doceń lokalność,' invites participants to discover the rich horticultural heritage of Łazienki Park.
The guided walk, suitable for ages 14 and above, will take place on October 20, 2023, starting at the terrace of the Palace on the Water. It will explore the varied landscapes of Łazienki, from overgrown ponds and garden pavilions to formal flowerbeds, while also sharing anecdotes about the life of King Stanisław August and his court. The following day, October 21, a workshop will focus on the Italian Garden, delving into the rules of garden composition and comparing 18th-century and contemporary space planning. Participants will then engage in hands-on landscape design, creating models of pathways, lawns, and flowerbeds using modeling materials.
