This nature workshop, titled "Gaja pod mikroskopem: tajemnice mikroświata w ekosystemach," is geared towards youth aged 14 and older, as well as adults. It offers a unique opportunity to delve into the hidden details of the micro-world within ecosystems. Participants will get to examine various materials under a microscope, including rocks used in the sculpture "Gaja" by Maria Papa Rostkowska, and samples of soil. The workshop aims to reveal the intricate structures and potential transformations within these natural elements, drawing parallels with Rostkowska's artistic philosophy that marble is a "living material." The event is connected to the exhibition "Obietnica szczęścia. Maria Papa Rostkowska" held in the Old Orangery. The session is led by Karolina Zdunek, a student of Geography and Regional Studies at the University of Warsaw and a nature educator. Her research focuses on applying modern remote sensing techniques for identifying and monitoring invasive plants. The workshop is adapted for individuals with sensory and intellectual disabilities, with arrangements for Polish Sign Language (PJM) interpretation available upon prior request.
