Curatorial context

The exhibition 'Idź na żywioł!' (Go with the Elements!) at the Royal Łazienki Museum offered an interactive space for children aged 1 to 10, inspired by the four classical elements. Divided into distinct zones representing fire, water, air, and earth, the installation used colors like red (lava), white (clouds), green (grass), and blue (sea waves) to stimulate the senses and encourage imaginative play. This exhibition served as a complementary experience to the main display, 'In the Element of Art. Jan Bogumił Plersch - Court Painter to King Stanisław August,' connecting the elemental theme to the royal artist's work. The exhibition's design aimed to foster sensory development and sensitivity to color, texture, and detail. Notably, some elements were created during family integration workshops, including those with children on the autism spectrum, highlighting an inclusive and participatory approach. Visitors were encouraged to explore at their own pace. The exhibition ran from July 4th to December 31st, 2017, in the Old Guardhouse (Stara Kordegarda).
