Curatorial context
The 'Kula w kuli. Mój dialog z artystą' (Ball in a Ball. My Dialogue with the Artist) is a workshop series designed specifically for seniors, aiming to foster curiosity and creative interpretation of sculptural forms. Centered around Arnoldo Pomodoro's artwork 'Sfera con sfera,' the sessions treat art as a pathway to self-discovery and emotional recognition. The sculpture itself is seen as a guide to our internal states, revealing what we hide and what we present to the world, allowing for personal interpretation due to its inherent ambiguity.
Participants are invited to explore how their inner selves—their psyche—and outer forms—their bodies—have been shaped by biology, time, life experiences, and social roles. Through questions such as 'What has shaped me?' and 'How do I influence the external world?', the workshops delve into the interplay between personal environments and external impacts. The sessions will employ art therapy techniques including movement, visual arts, storytelling, photography, and guided meditation, encouraging participants to come in comfortable attire and with an open mind. The location in the Łazienki gardens, near 'Sfera con sfera,' provides a contemplative natural setting conducive to reflection and connection.
