This workshop offers a hands-on experience in ecological fabric dyeing using readily available plants. Participants will explore how to derive various colors from nature, learning foundational dyeing techniques and the art of batik, which involves creating patterns with wax. Drawing inspiration from botanical motifs found on historical textiles, attendees will have the opportunity to design and create their own unique compositions on fabric. The workshop is led by Aleksandra Skorupka, an educator at the Royal Łazienki Museum with a background in painting and art research. Her practice emphasizes the community-building potential of artistic activities, often involving collective projects, workshops, and zine publications.
