A series of philosophical workshops titled 'Peripatos. Philosophy in Practice' aims to demonstrate how abstract philosophical concepts can help solve everyday problems. Participants will explore practical applications of philosophical ideas for daily life, work, and understanding the world.
The 'Peripatos. Philosophy in Practice' workshop series offers a unique opportunity to engage with philosophical thought not as an abstract discipline, but as a practical tool for navigating contemporary life. The workshops delve into how ideas from philosophers across different eras can provide relevant solutions to common challenges encountered in work, personal relationships, and engagement with media and technology. Participants are encouraged to discover how philosophical reasoning can enhance self-awareness, critical thinking, and understanding of societal values.
Facilitated by philosopher Marcin Rychter, known for his work on the philosophy of culture and technology's societal impact, and Karolina Rychter, who researches the intersection of philosophy and literature, the series promises insightful discussions. Each session, held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Old Kordegarda, tackles a specific theme, ranging from effective argumentation and media literacy to understanding art and historical contexts. The program runs from January to December, offering a year-long exploration into the practical wisdom of philosophy.
