Curatorial context
This program offered thematic walks for adults and youth aged 15 and over, focusing on the legacy of Saxon Warsaw during the rule of the Wettin dynasty (Augustus II and Augustus III, 1697-1763). The period brought significant changes to Warsaw's spatial layout and architecture, driven by the kings' ambitious visions. The walks aimed to explore these transformations by visiting relevant sites and examining museum objects and reproductions.
The first walk on November 6, 2021, focused on the Saxon Axis, the most significant urban planning achievement of the Wettin era in Warsaw, and the former site of the Brühl Palace. Although much of this area has been altered, especially by WWII, remnants of its original layout are still discernible. The second walk on November 13, 2021, connected with the temporary exhibition "Splendor of Power. The Wettins on the Throne of the Polish Crown" at the Royal Łazienki Museum. This walk traced the footsteps of Augustus II as the leaseholder of Ujazdów estates, examining sites like the Palace on the Isle and the Ujazdów Castle surroundings, and exploring their connection to Plac Trzech Krzyży.

The walks were ticketed at 5 PLN per walk, with tickets available via eWejściówki (transaction fees applied). Registration was limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that tickets for these walks have already been sold out.
