The identity of the rider remains a mystery, fueling the painting's extraordinary popularity, alongside its masterful technique and refined color tonality. The painting's history is deeply intertwined with Polish royalty; it was acquired by King Stanisław August in 1791 and remained in his collection at the Palace on the Isle until his abdication. After passing through various collections, it was eventually acquired by Henry Clay Frick in 1910 and is now part of The Frick Collection in New York. The temporary relocation of The Frick Collection provided a unique opportunity for 'The Polish Rider' to return to the Royal Łazienki, over two centuries after it left the Polish king's residence. The exhibition is complemented by a bilingual publication featuring essays from the curators, Xavier Salomon, Izabela Zychowicz, and Dorota Juszczak. Admission to the exhibition is included with a ticket to the Museum facilities. Standard tickets are PLN 40, reduced tickets are PLN 20, and admission is PLN 1 for children aged up to 7 years and youth up to 26 years of age. Admission is free of charge on Fridays.
