The exhibition 'W polu i w kniei. Część 1: Las' (In the Field and in the Wild. Part 1: The Forest) offers a comprehensive look at the fauna inhabiting forest environments. It presents a variety of species, including commonly encountered animals like roe deer, wild boar, red deer, foxes, and jays, as well as rarer creatures such as wolves, lynx, and golden eagles. The display includes several species of owls, from the common tawny owl and barn owl to the largest European owl, the Eurasian eagle-owl, and the smallest, the pygmy owl. A rare specimen of a snake-eating eagle is also featured. Beyond taxidermy, the exhibition incorporates a significant trophy section, displaying symmetrical and sometimes deformed antlers from deer and roe deer, along with a collection of wild boar teeth. Visitors can also discover over twenty accurately recreated forest animal tracks and experience the ambiance of the wild through an immersive sound installation featuring animal vocalizations, such as deer rutting calls, grouse lekking, and wolf pack sounds.
