Discover Poland's Avian Diversity: 'W polu i w kniei. Część 2: Ptaki' at Royal Lazienki Museum

This exhibition showcases the rich diversity of bird species found in Poland, categorized by their natural habitats such as forests, meadows, and wetlands. Visitors can observe a variety of common and rare species, including detailed displays of different groups like water birds, birds of prey, and corvids.

The exhibition 'W polu i w kniei. Część 2: Ptaki' (In the Field and in the Wild. Part 2: Birds) highlights the remarkable variety of bird species native to Poland. The display is organized according to the birds' habitats, featuring forest, meadow, water, and wetland species. Among the presented species are rare and interesting examples such as the ruff, purple heron, crested duck (hełmiatka), red-footed falcon (kobczyk), and the great bustard, one of the heaviest flying birds. The exhibition also includes several grebe species, the pied avocet, and the bittern, alongside daily birds of prey like the common buzzard, goshawk, peregrine falcon, and osprey. A distinct educational section focuses on corvids, allowing visitors to differentiate between species like ravens, jackdaws, magpies, and crows. Large-format, colorful panels illustrate the birds' natural environments, and the exhibition space is further enhanced by the ambient sounds of birdsong.
