Exhibition summary

Quantum of Peace was a multimedia installation created for the Warsaw Rising Museum to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. The exhibition utilized thousands of bullet casings arranged on a magnetic board to visualize historical data and reflect on the consequences of conflict.

Curatorial context

The Quantum of Peace exhibition served as a profound memento for subsequent generations increasingly distant from the events of the Second World War. By using thousands of used bullet casings as a tangible symbol of a gunshot's history, the installation invited visitors to contemplate the devastating consequences of war in both Poland and Europe. The work translated complex historical statistics into a visual medium, transforming the remnants of conflict into a poignant site for reflection. Developed by the artistic group PanGenerator, the installation was presented at the Warsaw Rising Museum between July and October 2015. During its run, it attracted over 130,000 visitors and was subsequently recognized for its innovative digital craftsmanship and design at the Cannes Lions international advertising festival.
