Foam is proud to present 'Father,' the first exhibition to showcase the complete body of work by artist Diana Markosian. This deeply personal exhibition chronicles Markosian's poignant journey to reconnect with her estranged father. After being taken from her home in Moscow to California by her mother at the age of seven, without a chance to say goodbye, Markosian traveled back to find him nearly 20 years later. The exhibition uses a compelling mix of personal photographs, family snapshots, and filmic elements to explore profound themes of family, the pain of loss, and the complex process of reconnection. Diana Markosian, born in the US in 1989, is a New York-based artist known for her distinctive approach to image-making that blends various styles and mediums. Her first monograph, 'Santa Barbara' (2020), was recognized by MoMA and Time Magazine as a top book of the year. She is a recognized contributor to major publications such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, and The New Yorker. Her second monograph, 'Father,' debuted at Paris Photo in 2024. Markosian holds a Master's degree from Columbia University.
