This exhibition showcases 'Greguerías Ilustradas' by Ramón Gómez de la Serna, featuring 100 original drawings he created for his illustrated articles published in the magazine 'Blanco y Negro' between 1930 and 1935. Visitors can explore his unique creative universe and agile thought through these exceptional works.
Ramón Gómez de la Serna (1888–1963), often called 'Ramón', was a prolific intellectual whose creative output defined a generation, leading to the terms 'unipersonal generation' and 'Ramonismo'. Between 1930 and 1935, he published a series of illustrated greguerías in the magazine 'Blanco y Negro', including "Cifras de París," "Cifras de Alemania," "Cifras de ahora," "Greguerías ilustradas," and "Greguerías." These texts were accompanied by his own drawings, making this series a distinctive part of his oeuvre and of Spanish press literature.
The ABC Museum holds 314 original drawings by Ramón Gómez de la Serna, from which 100 have been selected for this exhibition. The works are presented chronologically according to their publication date in 'Blanco y Negro'. However, the exhibition encourages visitors to explore freely, embracing the spirit of Ramón Gómez de la Serna, which stood in contrast to rigid order and static arrangements.
