This exhibition showcases artworks by various artists who offer personal visions of astronomy, inspired by astrophysical concepts. The collection features diverse techniques including drawings, oils, AI-generated images, 3D renders, and photography, unified by their connection to scientific inspiration.
Ecos del Cosmos: galaxias ancestrales reveladas is an exhibition of panels that can be viewed for free in the access corridor to the audiovisual area of the Madrid Planetarium. This exhibition features artists who have developed images based on five fundamental astrophysical concepts, blending scientific inspiration with artistic creativity. The works are not intended as scientific illustrations but rather as artistic interpretations that stem from astronomical themes. The exhibition demonstrates the reciprocal relationship between art and science, where art is inspired by science and vice versa.
The artworks, created using diverse techniques such as drawings, oils, AI-generated images, 3D renders, and photography, are presented on a unified support to facilitate transport and broader exhibition. The exhibition originated from a summer course at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), 'Paradigm Shift in the Evolution of Galaxies. Collaboration between Space Agencies,' and features contributions from artists associated with the Sostenibilidad, Ciencia y Arte (SCIART-UCM) research group, collaborating with scientists from institutions like IPARCOS-UCM, the Center for Astrobiology (CAB), and the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC).
