This exhibition presents a comprehensive overview of Magda Bielesz's art from the past 20 years, featuring paintings, sculptures, and notes. Her works, displayed alongside the museum's historical pharmacy artifacts, explore personal experiences, including illness as a creative paradigm, and engage in a dialogue with the permanent exhibition's narrative of medicines and poisons.
"Magda Bielesz. Wśród leków czuję się bezpiecznie" offers a cross-section of the artist's selected works from the past 20 years. Presented within the historic interiors of the Museum of Pharmacy, Bielesz's paintings, sculptures, and notes converse with the museum's permanent exhibition, which details the history of medicines, poisons, and their production and distribution.
The artist's works from previous years, alongside new pieces created specifically for this exhibition, are thoughtfully placed within the Museum of Pharmacy's space. They enter into a dialogue with the reconstructed pharmacy interior, which narrates stories of pharmaceutical crafts. Bielesz's art, personal yet rich with pop culture references, delves into the relationship between illness and creativity, fears and medicines. The exhibition is more than a retrospective of two decades of artistic output; it is an exploration of the artist's unique perspective where "among medicines, I feel safe."
