Curatorial context

On the courtyard of the Praga Museum of Warsaw, visitors had the opportunity to view artifacts retrieved from the Vistula River in 2015. These items were the original stone details of the Poniatowski Bridge, a structure erected at the beginning of the 20th century. The exhibition highlighted elements such as parts of benches, gubernia coats of arms, and corona muralis, as well as volutes, colloquially known as 'snail shells', which once adorned the bridge. The excellent preservation of these pieces is attributed to their construction from very hard Scandinavian granite, with some elements dating back over a hundred years.
