FAMULUS 4.0 is a performance exploring the fragility of social bonds in an age of hyper-connection and automation. It features four people and a robot dog in a dialogue between the human and artificial, building a universe where the real and digital intersect.
FAMULUS 4.0, part of the CÚBIT. FESTIVAL (Science + Art), constructs a physical and emotional universe where the real and the digital intersect. Inspired by the Latin term 'famulus' (servant) and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the work delves into contemporary discourse on artificial intelligence, technology use, and affective ties in the current digital age. The performance centers on a 6x6 meter plateau, featuring four individuals and a robot dog, engaging in a dialogue between the human and the artificial through movement and autofiction. It specifically examines the fragility of social connections amidst hyper-connection and automation.
The artistic team includes Luis Muñoz, Diego Garrido, Moisés “Moe”, and Héctor Plaza “Buba” for choreography, idea, and interpretation, with Vicente Romero as the robotic operator and audiovisual producer. Direction is by Iron Skulls Co, with co-direction and dramaturgy by Rafa Jagat. Musical composition is by Miguel Marín, styling by Ugo Boulard, and scenography by Iron Skulls Co.
