"Kwiaty polskie" invites visitors on a captivating exploration of Polish rituals and the natural world, centered around the theme of flowering plants and their significance throughout the year. The exhibition unfolds across seven distinct rooms, each a vibrant tapestry of colors, scents, and interactive experiences designed to engage visitors of all ages. It delves into a rich array of topics, from traditional folk design and floral dyeing practices to the etnobotanical and folk medicine uses of plants. Visitors can engage with activities such as trying on traditional attire, exploring textile installations, learning about traditional songs related to flowers, and creating a floral map of Poland. The exhibition also offers opportunities to examine botanical structures up close and discover the connections between flowers, straw, and hay, as well as nocturnal blooms. This exhibition marks a significant moment for the National Museum of Ethnography, celebrating its 135th anniversary and the tenth year of its dedicated programming for young audiences. It is the museum's tenth family exhibition, aiming to foster an ethnographic perspective on cultural phenomena. "Kwiaty polskie" encourages a deeper look into past and present Polish practices involving flowers, prompting reflection on why and how they are used.
