‘Świętuję na Pradze’ (Celebrating in Praga) is a new exhibition presented by the Oral History Archive of the Museum of Warsaw’s Praga branch. Launched in 2017, the project investigated what holidays are closest to the hearts of Praga residents, whether unique local celebrations exist, and how significant moments are observed within the community. The exhibition showcases curated excerpts from a rich collection of oral history interviews, offering insights into family Sundays, neighborhood gatherings, scout rituals, and state holidays. A significant focus is placed on Christmas, recalling the most cherished and warmly remembered celebrations.
The exhibition is a product of research and popularization efforts within the Oral History Archive project, 'Świętuję na Pradze,' which received funding from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Folk Culture and Tradition Program. The recordings were conducted by Matylda Kuczyńska, Julia Machnowska, Monika Wesołowska, Kamila Zacharuk, and Błażej Culepa. The translation work was managed by Oleksandra Mazur and Mateusz Motyka, with Anna Mizikowska serving as the exhibition curator.
