Curatorial context

DiseñAR-T II presents the culmination of intensive learning experiences for adolescents aged 12 to 18, focusing on the textile industry and fashion sector. The exhibition features end-of-course projects, including original garments, upcycling initiatives, and diverse creative works demonstrating the students' acquired theoretical and practical skills. Originating from the "Cultura que Transforma" program and a collaboration involving the High Commissioner for the fight against Child Poverty and MANGO, DiseñAR-T aims to offer quality extracurricular activities that explore fashion as a universal language. The second edition, which began in November 2023, is further enhanced with the patronage of Sergio de Lázaro (Co-Founder of OTRURA and Creative Director of BERHANYER) and provides participants with extended program duration and access to resources like sewing machines and mannequins. Through weekly theory and practice classes, the project aims to cover various facets of the fashion industry, enabling young participants to develop their creativity, discover potential vocations, and connect with related professions from design to communication.
