Inspiraciones. Mariano Fortuny: Celebrating a Spanish 20th-Century Artist's Diverse Creations

This exhibition pays homage to Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo, a significant Spanish artist of the 20th century, showcasing his diverse inspirations and creations. The display includes paintings, prints, photographs, textiles, and fashion designs from various collections.

Organized as part of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union program, 'Inspiraciones. Mariano Fortuny' honors one of the most important Spanish artists of the 20th century. The exhibition features a total of 130 pieces, drawing from the collections of the Museo del Traje. CIPE, the Museo Fortuny in Venice, the Giorgio Cini Foundation, and several private collections. It also includes works from the Museo del Prado, the National Archaeological Museum, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, the Calcografía Nacional, and the National Library, illustrating the diverse influences and artistic output of Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo, a truly creative mind of his time. The exhibition was organized by the Subdirección General de Promoción de las Bellas Artes and curated by Eloy Martínez de la Pera. It took place in the temporary exhibition hall on the ground floor of the museum.
