The exhibition '¡Moda! El diseño español a través de la fotografía' (Fashion! Spanish Design through Photography) brings together almost a hundred photographs and around twenty exclusive designs from the Museum of Costume's collection to pay tribute to international photography via Spanish fashion. Fashion's original character, balancing the traits and the picturesque, has made it an excellent photographic subject. Renowned photographers like Richard Avedon and Irving Penn found inspiration in the sculptural qualities of Cristóbal Balenciaga's suits, while Henry Clarke captured the essence of designs by Elio Berhanyer and Manuel Pertegaz within luminous and exotic settings. This exhibition offers an unprecedented and comprehensive vision of an explosion of creativity where the image extracted the full potential of fashion, and vice versa.
