The exhibition 'Ocultar y revelar al mismo tiempo: el corsé' delves into the multifaceted role of the corset as a garment that shapes and defines both the external appearance and internal self. Presented from March 22 to June 20, the exhibition utilizes a rich array of media, including textile manufacturing elements, photographic works, dynamic projections, and intricate collages, to illustrate its central theme. The exhibition is structured into distinct phases, guiding visitors through a comprehensive exploration of the corset. Phase 1 features a projection illustrating the three different stages in the creation of a dress. Phases 2, 3, and 4 showcase photographs of essential elements for garment construction, alongside compositions of photography and painting that highlight the corset as the primary symbol of the body's conformity to established aesthetic standards. Phase 5 offers projections on the weaving process, while Phase 6 includes a sculptural piece made of reflective material, composed of pattern pieces from a deconstructed corset, upon which images are projected. This exhibition is curated by Belén Conthe and Ana Troya, and organized by the S.G. de Promoción de las Bellas Artes. It is located in the sala polivalente (multipurpose room).
