The Museo del Traje is hosting the first retrospective exhibition dedicated to Pedro Rovira i Planas (1921–1978), a prominent figure in classic haute couture. The exhibition draws from the extensive collection of the Fundació Antoni de Montpalau, which holds the most significant fashion collection in Spain. Rovira was notable for his commitment to establishing ready-to-wear fashion alongside his couture work, creating collections for mass production and international markets in the 1960s and 1970s. Curated by art and fashion historian Josep Casamartina i Parassols, with contributions from Ismael Núñez Muñoz and Rosa M. Martín i Ros, the exhibition features approximately two hundred and fifty pieces. These include dresses, coats, bridal wear, accessories, drawings, and photographs spanning from 1948 to 1978. A documentary with interviews of collaborators and period testimonies is also presented, offering a comprehensive look at Rovira's career and impact on Spanish fashion.
