The 11th edition of the Emerging Design Month showcases the talent of new generations of fashion designers from national design schools. This year's exhibition features projects inspired by the centenary of the Museum of Costume's 1925 Regional Costume Exhibition, offering contemporary perspectives on tradition.
The Mes del Diseño Emergente (Emerging Design Month) is a collaborative initiative between the Museum of Costume and leading national fashion design institutions, dedicated to highlighting the creativity of emerging designers. This exhibition serves as a platform for future professionals to present their innovative proposals, underscoring the richness and diversity of educational offerings in the fashion sector.
In its eleventh iteration, the event adopts a contest format, with six selected schools presenting projects that draw inspiration from the centenary of the Museum of Costume's collections, specifically the 1925 Regional Costume Exhibition. These proposals engage with history to provide a contemporary interpretation of tradition. The exhibition details the projects from EASD Castello, UDIT, Mestre Mateo, IED, Escuela de Arte 3, and CSDMM, each offering unique explorations of heritage, memory, identity, and sustainability through fashion, often incorporating digital technologies and reinterpreting traditional textiles and garments.
