Anton Lesser Returns to Oxford Playhouse for Thomas Hardy Production
Stage and screen actor Anton Lesser is set to make a welcome return to the Oxford Playhouse stage alongside actor Lucia Bonbright for a special production celebrating the life and work of Thomas Hardy.

Titled A Beautiful Thread: Thomas Hardy in Words & Music, the production explores the dramatic life of Thomas Hardy through his own letters, poetry, and famous novels such as Far From the Madding Crowd, Tess of the d’Urbervilles, and Jude the Obscure. Adapted by Deirdre Shields, the performance brings a wide-ranging cast of characters to life, from Hardy's family members and wives to historical literary figures like George Bernard Shaw and Virginia Woolf.
The production highlights the author's modern perspective and enduring global reach.
