Frankie Goes to Bollywood Brings Vibrant Energy to Oxford Playhouse
Rifco Theatre Company has arrived in the city with its vibrant production, Frankie Goes to Bollywood, currently playing a limited run at the Oxford Playhouse. The feel-good musical blends high-energy choreography, West End style, and British pop with traditional Bollywood sounds, telling the story of an ordinary young woman thrust into the glittering and demanding world of Indian cinema.

Ahead of opening night, the cast stepped out across iconic city landmarks for a special photoshoot, bringing glimpses of the show's striking choreography to locations like the Bodleian Library, the Clarendon Building, and outside the Divinity School.
Created and directed by Pravesh Kumar MBE, the production looks beyond the glamour of the silver screen to explore themes of identity, belonging, and the realities faced by women navigating the film industry. The story centres on Frankie—portrayed by Sarah Pearson—alongside a principal cast featuring Akshay Datta, Meher Pavri, Ankur Sabharwal, Katie Stasi, and Luke Suri, supported by a dynamic ensemble of dancers and performers.
