The exhibition 'Chris Niedenthal. Esszencia' ('Chris Niedenthal. Esszentially') showcases the work of renowned photographer Chris Niedenthal. Based on the exhibition 'NIEDENTHAL' prepared by DSH, it delves into the photographer's philosophy of capturing the core essence of his subjects.
The exhibition "Chris Niedenthal. Esencjonalnie" ("Chris Niedenthal. Esszencia") is presented at the Polish Institute (Lengyel Intézet) in Budapest, running from March 31 to May 29, 2026. This exhibition is rooted in the "NIEDENTHAL" exhibition originally prepared by Dom Spotkań z Historią (DSH). Photographer Chris Niedenthal, born in London in 1950, is known for his significant photojournalism, documenting pivotal moments such as the rise of Solidarity, the introduction of martial law in Poland, and the fall of communism in Eastern Europe. His work has appeared in major publications like 'Stern,' 'Geo,' 'Newsweek,' and 'Time.' Niedenthal, a World Press Photo award winner, likens his photographic approach to a musical performance – stripped down, without unnecessary embellishments, focusing on the 'esszencia,' or core essence. This exhibition aims to convey that same fundamental quality in his visual storytelling.
