It presents a surprising picture of these regions, featuring elements such as French Riviera-inspired beaches, the Polish oil industry, Europe's most modern high-mountain astronomical observatory, and Formula 1 races in Lviv. The exhibition is structured into seven thematic threads, each detailing a different aspect of modernization. These include post-war reconstruction after the devastation of 1914–1920, modernist architecture of the 1930s, industrial investments and factories like the large Drohobych refinery and the State Quarries in Janowa Dolina, well-known companies and brands such as the iconic Elektrit radios and Baczewski spirits, spectacular investment and construction projects, and technical and scientific achievements, notably the Lviv School of Mathematics. Despite the historical context of war devastation and the concentration of key investments in central and western Poland, the eastern lands experienced a period of undeniable development, transforming many of their landscapes. The immense effort invested in rebuilding, expanding, and modernizing these territories constitutes a shared heritage for Poland and its neighbors: Lithuania, Belarus, and Ukraine.
