The exhibition specifically notes their significant role in Polish national movements, including various uprisings, the fight for independence, the Polish-Bolshevik War, and their participation during the German occupation and the Warsaw Uprising. Originally premiered in 2010, this exhibition has been shown in various locations, including Berlin and Warsaw.
This particular showing was organized in conjunction with the celebrations of Poland's 100th anniversary of regaining independence and took place from November 15 to December 31, 2018, at the Zespół Szkół Samochodowych i Licealnych Nr 2 in Warsaw. The project was a collaborative effort between the Polish-German Cooperation Foundation and the History Meeting House, with assistance from descendants of the featured German families residing in Warsaw.
