KOR. Strength in Unity: Inaugural Concert for the 50th Anniversary of the Committee of National Liberation at the History Meeting House

This is an inaugural concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Committee of National Liberation (KOR). The event features poetic songs, actor interpretations, and recitations by artists important to the KOR generation, accompanied by the Karimski Orchestra. Audiovisual materials and personal recollections will also be presented, marking the historical significance of KOR's role in Polish opposition.

This concert marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Committee of National Liberation (KOR), an organization that arose from worker strikes and protests in Poland on June 25, 1976. KOR supported repressed workers, documented human rights violations, and became a foundation for later democratic opposition and solidarity movements. The inaugural event is a poetic concert featuring songs, actor interpretations, and recitations of works by authors significant to the KOR generation, such as Stanisław Barańczak, Zbigniew Herbert, and Ewa Lipska. The performance is accompanied by the Karimski Orchestra, led by Karim Martusewicz, and directed by Agnieszka Uścińska. The program includes both younger and experienced performers, complemented by audiovisual materials, operational documents, and personal memories from opposition figures and their families, offering a comprehensive look at KOR's history and impact.
