Discover the History: Marshal Mannerheim in Poland Photography Exhibition in Warsaw

This photographic exhibition commemorates the 150th anniversary of Marshal Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim's birth and the centenary of Finland's independence. It focuses on Mannerheim's largely unknown seven-year period spent in Poland, which he recalled as the happiest time of his life.

Presented on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Finland's national hero, Marshal Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, and the centenary of Finland's independence, this exhibition showcases photographs depicting a little-known period of Mannerheim's life. It highlights his over seven years of residence in Poland, a time he referred to in his memoirs as the happiest period of his life. The exhibition dedicated to Marshal Mannerheim and his connections with Poland was available to the public in Warsaw from June 8 to June 28, 2017. Visitors could view it at the square named after Father Jan Twardowski. The exhibition was organized by the Polish-Finnish Project Group, the Embassy of Finland, and the DSH (Dom Spotkań z Historią).
