Warsaw Reborn: Documenting the City's Post-War Reconstruction Through Reportage Photography 1945–1949

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Warsaw's reconstruction, the Dom Spotkań z Historią presents 'Warszawa na nowo. Fotografie reporterskie 1945–1949' (Warsaw Reborn: Reportage Photography 1945–1949). Curated by Anna Brzezińska and Katarzyna Madoń-Mitzner, the exhibition is a symbolic culmination of their extensive work with a collection of photographs from the Polish Press Agency archive. The exhibition is complemented by selected fragments of film chronicles of post-war Warsaw and a timeline of key events from 1945–1949. Visitor participation is invited through a plebiscite to choose the most uplifting photograph of Warsaw from 1945-1949. Visitors can vote by affixing a sticker to their chosen photo and submitting brief justifications at the DSH reception. Prizes, including albums, will be awarded for the most interesting justifications and the most voted-for photograph.
